People are dying every day and healthcare professionals worldwide are struggling to control the number of cases of the virus. Almost everything had been shut down including sports venues and events. There was no match in the field for a long time. Things are getting better now for many countries and so the sports leagues are returning to the field as well. However, several precautions are taken to prevent the spread of the disease among the players and others involved. Here we are going to talk about the various measures that are in place today. The European Soccer team is on the field already playing various matches. Germany’s Bundesliga also returned. A striking observation about these matches is that there were no spectators in the field. Every year, before the pandemic broke out, the stadiums used to be packed with fans. Now there is a restriction in this regard. It is a rule now that the stadiums must be empty when any match is going on to protect the health of the players. The teams need to spend a week in quarantine before going to the field as a precautionary measure. They are also regularly tested for the virus. If any player has any symptoms he is asked to retire. Social distancing is maintained in every step. The players are not allowed to go on one bus; rather multiple buses are arranged for them to get to the field. Multiple dressing rooms are also used by the players so that the dressing room doesn’t get crowded. All the areas of the stadium are disinfected and cleaned regularly. The ball that will be used for the soccer game is disinfected multiple times during the match. Substitute players are required to wear masks while waiting for their turn to play. For warmups, players are scheduled to come at different times to reduce gathering. Referees are asked to keep a distance from players during the match and handshakes are forbidden. International matches and competitions are not allowed due to travel restrictions. So, teams are competing with the other teams of their nation. Other leagues like England’s Premier League are also returning to the game and they must follow similar rules during their matches. We hope that things will get better soon, and that we can resume our normal life....
